FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an antifreeze based on ethylene glycol, which contains the following, in wt %: alkaline agent - 6.4-8.7; sodium salt of 2- mercaptobenzothiazole - 0.015-0.03; salting inhibitor - 0.055-0.065; caprolactam - 0.020-0.03; dye - 0.002-0.004; water - 1.28-1.38; antifoaming agent - 0.002-0.003; ethylene glycol - the rest. The alkaline agent used is a mixture of inorganic and organic phosphates - phosphate of alkali metals and phosphate of triethanolamine taken in ratio of 0.015-0.09. The salting inhibitor used is a mixture of disodium salt of ethylendiaminetetraacetic acid and oxyethylene diphosphonic acid taken in ratio of 3:1.
EFFECT: longer service life of the antifreeze, its stability at high temperatures, reduced toxicity, corrosion resistance in relation to metals, while retaining resistance to hard water.
