FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method of controlling the product sizes comprises placing the product on a platform, video shooting of the product and transfer of the image to the computer, pinpointing the product presence on the image, outlining the product shape on the image and defining the product type by comparing its shape with that of the standard. For precise outlining, the product is continuously illuminated. The sizes of outline are measured. The selected product type is used to select amplitude and frequency of harmonic vibrations of the platform that moves the product, thus changing its aspect angle. The product size measurement results obtained, the comparison is made with the standard product to make a final decision on rejection. The proposed device comprises a video camera and computer. Note that it additionally incorporates a light source, vibration unit with platform. Note also that two-way input-output of the said video camera is connected to the computer two-way input-output. The computer output is connected to the vibration unit input, the vibration unit being rod-jointed with the platform supporting the product under control. The light source is located above the platform.
