FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method includes the following: placing marker points on each measured surface of the measured object (body), respectively; placing point markers on the periphery of the measured object (body) which protrude from the outline of said object and are visible at the same time from the same angles as the surface whose shape and location are to be determined; using two measuring video cameras mounted at a position from which the surface is visible to determine coordinates of marker points of the surface and point markers in a coordinate system associated with the position of the measuring cameras for the first surface. The video cameras are mounted at a position from which the other surface is visible and are then used again to determine coordinates of marker points of the surface and point markers in the coordinate system of the second surface associated with the new position of the measuring cameras.

EFFECT: easier measurement and monitoring of dimensions and shape of objects.
