UNIVERSAL ANTIFREEZING BREATHER Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B65D51/16 

FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: universal antifreezing breather comprises a metal pipe (further "pipe") with a hole in the wall and with a rubber tube pulled on it, a disc closing the pipe upper hole, a steel round housing welded to it and having a welded structure flange with a gas bleeder which is welded to the housing cover, two round steel flanges welded to the pipe, bolt connections for coupling the flattened ends of a yoke, and for connecting the housing to the pipe and the breather to the reservoir branch pipes. The breather is made so that the air-gas mixture go out vertically upwards and is equipped with the gas bleeder set vertically on the housing cover for safe storage of oil and oil products. A flange with an axially welded steel strip is welded to the upper pipe end, the strip divides the upper pipe hole into two openings; the flange is also fitted by two glued rubber semiflanges with a sealing device which serves for sealing the two divided openings and comprises a rubber disc, a steel strip to press the disc from top when fixing it at the steel strip welded to the flange. The rubber tube is placed inside the metal pipe with the diametrical grooves being matched in the metal pipe wall and in the rubber tube for the air inlet; with flaps to the grooves in the rubber tube for sealing grooves in the metal pipe and with a flange welded to the lower pipe end and with a flange welded to the pipe upwards.

EFFECT: new design of the breather allowing for reducing losses of the stored liquid evaporation down to minimum, increasing throughput capacity and adjusting gas pressure during inlet-outlet operations, preventing fuel leakage at overturning and bleeding of gas excesses as well as ensuring safe storage of oil and oil-products.
