FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the area of production of expanded aggregates for concretes. Method of production of keramzite gravel includes preparation of ceramic body, granules formation, drying, burning, and coating granules with silica-containing agent. Silica send preliminary soaked with 3-4% of aqueous nitrate solutions of cobalt or nickel, or copper, or manganese and dried to humidity of 0-7% is used as a silica-containing agent. Above mentioned silica-containing agent is applied on to the surface of granules prior to their drying.
EFFECT: simplification of production of keramzite gravel with glass-like coating.
