FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: latch is made as an installed in the case and spring-driven head with a shank, having at least, one flat face and a device for its actuation in the form of a ledge on the shank. There is a guiding bar made in the case. A plate is arranged moving therein. In the plate there is an opening, for the shank to go through. On its perimetre the opening has, at least, one part parallel to and mating with the face of the shank. On the shank there is a circular slot with the width not less than width of the plate to secure latch turning around its longitudinal axis.

EFFECT: production of a latch, which may be used on left and right-hand doors with latch movement not necessitating breakdown of the case, with simplified design, improved technological efficiency of production of the handle and better convenience of use, enhanced reliability of latch operation.
