DEVICE FOR ULTRASOUND WIRE OR TAPE SURFACE CLEARING Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B08B3/12

Abstract RU 2360746 C1

FIELD: mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for clearing surfaces of flexible lengthy products, for example, various-shape moving wire or tape. The proposed device comprises a bath with detergent solution, rotary conveying rolls fixed in the bath, rigidly fixed submerged ultrasound radiators with their active surfaces facing the wire or tape surface to be cleared, the said wire or tape being driven by the said conveying rolls. The rolls are arranged in the bath so that their generating lines make the apices of regular polygon. Note here that the roll of one of the polygon apices extend beyond the detergent solution surface. Note also that the roll side surface features circular guide grooves whereon the wire or tape is coiled, and that the rolls are axially shifted, with respect to each other, through a constant magnitude whereat all grooves of the last roll are shifted, with respect to those of the first roll, through one spacing, where the spacing is a distance between two centre lines of adjacent grooves. The wire or tape is coiled onto the rolls by laying it into guide grooves in the sequence that follows, i.e. the first roll first guide groove, then, sequentially, the first groove of every following roll, and, after the last roll first groove, comes the first roll second groove. Then, similarly sequentially, come the second grooves of the following rolls, and, after the last roll second groove, comes the first roll third groove, and so on. Now, comes the appropriate guide groove of the first roll. The proposed device incorporates additionally the ultrasound oscillation reflectors representing elongated plates arranged nearby the surface to be cleared, and parallel to the radiator active surface at the distance, multiple of 1/2λ, from it where λ is the wavelength of ultrasound oscillations in detergent solution. The active surface of ultrasound radiator features an elongated shape. The radiators and reflectors are arranged between the rolls, on both sides of wire or tape, parallel to its axis.

EFFECT: higher quality or clearing, simplified device.
