FIELD: electric engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric engineering, particularly, to electric drives and may be used on metal-working machines or metal-working machine-based plants. The electric drive control method provides for generating control signals by changing their frequency based on constant optimal relative and linear speed of item or tool in metal-working machine. Control signal frequency is generated as a function of cutting tool position relative to the item rotation centre. In addition, the electric drive includes data input unit, startup unit, calculator, timer, actuation unit, current sensor if motor winding, comparator 21. All the above-mentioned items are coupled with the other electric drive units according to claims.
EFFECT: stable speed of cutting notwithstanding radial displacement of tool during metal working by cutting and stable thickness of item coating.
