METHOD OF BONE WINDOW FORMATION IN COURSE OF EXTERNAL DACRYOCYSTORHINOSTOMY Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61F9/00

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and is intended for surgical treatment of dacryocystitis and accompanying it nasolacrimal canal obstruction. Essence of method lies in performing skin cuts near inner eye angle, sublying soft tissues, tear-bag wall and nasal mucosa with further formation of fistula between tear-bag and nasal cavity. Removal of bone in region of anastomosis is first performed with manual trepanation cutter in its thinnest part, and then in formed window cutting part of shaver system for rhinology with changeable cutting heads is placed. In mode of single-directed rotation of diamond drill with frequency up to 3000 rev/min bone window is widened to size 12-15 x 15-20 mm with simultaneous aspiration of wound separated materials through shaver aspiration canal.

EFFECT: simplification of process of bone trepanation in region of supposed anastomosis, enhancing quality of formed bone window (adequate profile and smooth edges), reduce intra-operation trauma in course of external dacryocystorhinostomy.
