FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: ac/dc converter can find utility in supplying direct current users, particularly in electrical power supply systems for electrified railway lines. The proposed converter has a three-phase transformer (1) with two secondary windings, each of which has two windings, one made in a Y-network and the second in inverse Y-network, connected by neutral points into a six-phase Y-network, and twelve rectifier valves (2… 13). The number of turns in phase windings, making up inverse Y-networks (or Y-networks), and the number of turns in phase windings, making up the Y-networks (or inverse Y-networks) are in the ratio . Each of the six rectifier valves (3,5,7,9,11,13) connects a pair of antiphase phase winding leads of two six-phase Y-networks. In this case, anodes of rectifier valves (3, 7, 11, 9, 13, 5) are respectively connected to phase leads a, b, c, x, y, z of one six-phase Y-network, and the cathodes are respectively connected to phase leads x', y', z', a', b', c' of the second six-phase Y-network. The groups of rectifier valves (2, 6, 10) and (8, 12, 4) form anode and rectifier valve Y-networks, respectively; cathodes of rectifier valves of the anode Y-network are respectively connected to phases x, y, z of one six-phase Y-network, and the anodes of the cathode Y-network are connected to phases x', y', z' of the other six-phase Y-network, respectively. The common points of the anode and cathode rectifier valve Y-networks form output leads of the device (14) and (15), respectively, to which a load (16) is connected.
