FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the method for preparation of sialons - compounds of variable composition containing simultaneously Si, Al, O, N and can be used in ceramic, chemical, metallurgical industries, for production of construction and other materials stable against temperature shock, melted metals and attacks of aggressive media at high temperatures. The fusion mixture for sialon production contains kaolinite-containing carbonaceous argillite and burned beforehand kaolinite-containing carbonaceous argillite in the amount providing C:SiO2 mole ratio in the fusion mixture equal to 2.25:3.0.
EFFECT: cheapening of the preparation process of sialon with predetermined composition.
