FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to making granular ceramic materials designed for use as proppants during oil and gas extraction using penetrating fluid method. The method of making aluminosilicate proppant involves briquetting refractory clay material, thermal treatment of the briquette at 850-900°C, crushing the burnt briquette to particle size 1-2 mm, combined fine grinding using a dry method to particle size of 0.063 mm with a hardening additive, granulation of the raw mixture to apparent density of granules not less than 1.0 g/cm3 and burning the granules at 1400-1450°C. The composition for making the said proppant contains refractory clay material in form of enriched kaolin or refractory clay containing not less than 80% clay minerals, including not less than 70 % kaolinite, not more than 5% free quartz, not more than 1.0-1.5% alkaline oxide, and hardening additive in form of an iron oxide additive from the group of burnt pyrites or iron ore containing not less than 65% FeO+Fe2O3, in the following ratio in wt %: burnt clay material - refractory clay or enriched kaolin - 90.0-93.5, iron oxide additive 6.5-10.0.
EFFECT: lower burning temperature of granular material for making high-strength alumosilicate proppants.
