SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy field, particularly to compound of cast iron. It can be used in mechanical engineering. Cast iron contains, wt %: carbon 2.5-2.9, silicon 1.4-1.8, manganese 0.4-0.6; aluminium 0.3-0.4; calcium 0.005-0.009; barium 0.005-0.009; strontium 0.007-0.011; chrome 0.005-0.009; nitrogen 0.005-0.009; copper 1.2-1.6; iron - the rest.
EFFECT: cast iron allows high strength.
