FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear technology and can be applied in utilisation and burial of irradiated beryllium products, which are applied as reflector and delay mechanism of nuclear reactor neutrons, as well as components of blanket and other elements of thermonuclear reactor. Irradiated beryllium or products from it is removed from nuclear reactor, surface pollutions are removed by bleeding of surface layer in acid, tritium is removed, by burning in inert gas medium in presence of water-absorbing materials, beryllium is dissolved in hydrochloric acid, lanthanum nitrate and caustic sodium are added, precipitated radioactive admixtures are removed, solution is converted into acidic and beryllium is precipitated from solution by adding ammonia water solution to it.
EFFECT: reduction of amount of highly active wastes, which allows to reduce cost and increase safety in further storage.
