FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: artificial marble is described, which is laminated by layer that looks like veneer, and method for its production. Artificial marble contains the first layer of artificial marble produced from hardened composition and the second layer produced by hardening of polymerised composition containing monomer and chips, besides, the second layer is laminated on the first layer to produce single body in process of both layers hardening. Method of production includes the following stages: partial hardening of hardened composition with creation of the first layer, pouring of polymerised composition containing monomer and chips, which has liquidity in range from approximately 13 cm/min to approximately 20 cm/min, onto the first layer and lamination of the first and second layers by hardening with production of single body.
EFFECT: creation of artificial marble that excels standard artificial marble of the same thickness due to its low mass and proper machinability.
