FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of mechanical engineering and may be used in forging thin-walled large-dimensioned ogival-shaped shell of cone-shaped blank parts made of difficult-to-form steel or alloy. One-pass forging is performed in the die with gap between mould and punch. Before forging, the flange is formed at the side of blank part larger diametre for clamping it in the mould. Blank part is preheated to temperature derived from the graph of heating temperature versus strength limit of heated blank part by heated blank part strength limit which is determined according to relation in formula.

EFFECT: part manufacturing with minimum efforts, prevention of wall jamming and overheating of blank part made of difficult-to-form alloy.
