FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to procedures that involve estimating the aircraft flight conditions. Proposed invention covers the method and device to measure air turbulence around aircraft. In compliance with the invention, device incorporates measurement system that comprises light radars mounted on the aircraft to make twelve measurements of aerodynamic velocity around aircraft. Aforesaid measurement system makes the said twelve measurements at four points, each time along three preset axes. There is a central unit to determine the aerodynamic velocity field around aircraft taking use of aforesaid measurements made by aforesaid measurement system and preset 1st-order mathematical model describing aforesaid field proceeding from twelve variables. Aforesaid field defines turbulence around aircraft.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and validity of tyrbulence measurements.
