SUBSTANCE: invention concerns acoustic well logging equipment, namely to sonic transducers. A sonic transducer comprises a core, a sonic transducing element, an electronics package connected to the sonic transducing element, and a switch connected to the electronics package and the transducing element so that the transducing element can be activated selectively to receive or emit sound energy. The sonic transducing element has first and second surfaces, and the electronics package is coupled with the second surface of the transducing element and designed to process a signal of the sonic transducing element. The sonic transducing element and the electronics package are enclosed in a sealing material. The sonic transducing element, the electronics package and the switch are arranged within the core of sonic transducer.
