HAND-HELD ULTRASONIC DEVICE FOR VISUALIZATION Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2799791 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: ultrasound transducer for a handheld ultrasound imaging device for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes comprises a transducer element containing an array of piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducers (pMUTs), the transducer element being integrated on an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) to form a transducer tile, and a cavity is formed under the transducer element to provide acoustic isolation of the transducer element from the ASIC. The handheld ultrasonic imaging device comprises: a) a housing; b) an ultrasonic transducer module located inside the housing and in contact with the first heat sink and associated with the first thermal zone; c) a plurality of receiver subsystems and transmitter subsystems located within the case and integrated into a multilayer stack, wherein the multilayer stack is in contact with a second heatsink and associated with a second thermal zone, wherein the second heatsink is connected to the case, the multilayer stack, and the first heatsink so that serve as a main structure providing an internal rigid structure for the handheld ultrasonic imaging instrument; d) an anisotropic thermal interface material configured to transfer heat from the first thermal zone to the second thermal zone, wherein the anisotropic thermal interface material reduces thermal coupling between the first heat sink and the second heat sink; and e) logic for actively monitoring the ultrasonic procedure to control the heating of the ultrasonic transducer module within the transient heating range by adjusting user available power to limit overheating.

EFFECT: inventions make it possible to obtain high-quality ultrasound images in a portable hand-held device.
