FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns agriculture and is intended for application in forage production. Claimed method involves forage reduction to particle size within 0.25-1.5 mm, and further processing in three stages. At the first stage forage is processed by mixing with alkali solution of 6-8% concentration at solution to forage ratio within 10:100 to 40:100 for 15-30 minutes. Second stage also involves mixing with solution of proteins resistant to decomposition in rumen of ruminants, with 10-15% solution concentration, at protein solution to forage ratio within 5:100 to 20:100 for 15-30 minutes as well. Third stage involves processing by the same amount of alkali with the same concentration as at the first stage, with further drying of processed forage at 40-45°C for 12 hours.

EFFECT: reduced protein decomposition in rumen of ruminants, reduced nitrogen loss in urine and environmental pollution by urine nitrogen, normalised metabolism, enhanced productivity of ruminants and efficiency of forage protein utilisation.
