FIELD: physics, measurements.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of hydrophysical measurement facilities and may be used in laboratory standard machines and sea probe instruments. Method consists in the fact that measurement of cell output signal is carried out in two cycles, moreover, in the first cycle digital measurement of the main part of signal is carried out by means of discrete balancing of antiphased signal from standard voltage divider, and in the second cycle measurement of residual signal part is carried out by means of analog balancing by zero method with further conversion from analog form into digital one with the help of analog-digital converter, and final result of measurement is produced by summation of digital counts of the first and second cycles. Also device is suggested for realiszation of this method.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of sea water relative electric conductivity measurement up to the level of at least 20 binary digits.
