SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a context transferring method in a communication network, containing several heterogeneous access networks, where one of these access networks is connected to a mobile terminal. The invention also relates to apparatus for managing context transfer and to a mobile terminal for context transfer. For this purpose, apparatus for managing context transfer is used, which generates at least one context, based on capabilities and parametres, associated with the mobile terminal, and capabilities and parametres of neighbouring access networks, taking into account the suitable access technology. Also, the apparatus for managing context transfer is common for the said heterogeneous access networks in the communication network and it transfers context, related to a specific mobile terminal.
EFFECT: easier context transfer between heterogeneous access networks.
