FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, more specifically to viticulture. The method involves determination of biochemical characteristics of bast fibre of grape plant shoots. The biochemical characteristics used are the total activity of oxidising enzymes and activity of polyphenol oxidase in the bast fibre. Compatibility coefficient is calculated using the formula: "К=ПФО/С". Value of K in the interval 0.6-0.64 indicates good compatibility, while K= 0.65-0.67 - average compatibility, K ≥ 0.68 - weak compatibility.
EFFECT: invention increases longevity of grafted grape plants through prior diagnosis of the nature of compatibility of stock and scion.
