FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: making ginkgo biloba with low content of 4'-O-methylpyridoxine and/or biflavones includes the following stages: extraction of ginkgo biloba leaves with use of acetone containing water, or alkanol containing 1-3 carbon atoms and containing water, or anhydrous methanol, b) separation of organic solvent by solution concentration to content 10 wt % with water optionally added at the final distillation stages; c) dilution of the rest aqueous solution with water to solid content 5 to 25 wt %, cooling to temperature lower than 25°C and conditioning to sedimentation, d) processing of the rest aqueous solution with ammonium sulphate and following extraction at least once with use of methyl ethyl ketone or mixed methyl ethyl ketone and acetone, e) concentration of the prepared extract and dilution with mixed ethanol-water to prepare the solution containing 50 wt % of water and 50 wt % of ethanol, and with the solid content 10 wt %, f) processing of the solution by lead or insoluble polyamide compounds, g) extraction of the filtered solution with aliphatic or cycloaliphatic solvent of boiling point 60 to 100°C, h) concentration of the rest aqueous-alcoholic solution and processing with ammonium sulphate and extraction with methyl ethyl ketone and ethanol, i) concentration of the prepared organic phase to the solid content 50 to 70 wt %, k) dissolution of the concentrate in the aqueous alcohol containing 1-3 carbon atoms, and optional filtering, l) resin adsorbent filtration on the basis of optionally substituted styrenes/divinylbenzols, and/or a strong-acid ion exchanger and m) drying of the concentrate at low pressure to prepare the dry extract containing water in amount less than 5%. The extract is applied in manufacturing of a medical product or foodstuff for treating dementia and disturbed circulation.
