FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to gas pipeline transportation. Natural gas odorant injection system for injecting odorant to the main gas pipeline includes a bypass circuit the inlet whereof is connected to the main gas pipeline section located downstream the gas flow in the above pipeline to the above circuit, and the outlet is connected to the main gas pipeline section located downstream the gas flow in the above pipeline after the above circuit; an odorant tank is located in bypass circuit, a flow metre is located in bypass circuit. At that, flow metre has sensitivity to the characteristic of fluid medium flow through the flow metre and generates a signal characterising the fluid medium flow, a control valve installed in the bypass circuit, and a controller connected, with the possibility of communication, to the flow metre and control valve; at that, the controller is programmed to control the control valve based on the signal received from the floe metre and characterising the fluid medium flow in order to enter the specified level of adorised gas to the main gas pipeline. The invention also refers to natural gas odorisation method.
EFFECT: controllong the operation of the control valve based on the signal received from the flow metre and characterising the fluid medium flow.
