METHOD OF ODORIZING GAS AND DEVICE FOR ITS EMBODIMENT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: delivery of liquid odorant to flow of fuel gas transported via pipe line. SUBSTANCE: method consists in measuring flow rate of gas in pipe line and according to measured magnitude, present consumption of odorant is determined; odorant consists of mixture of natural mercaptans. Then, concentration of aromatic component in odorant is measured. Present consumption of odorant is determined with concentration of aromatic component taken into account; density of odorant and concentration of aromatic component in non-odorized gas are also taken into account. Device proposed for realization of this method has reservoir for odorant, units for measurement of aromatic component concentration in odorant and calculation of odorant consumption flowmeter and odorant metering unit. EFFECT: reduced consumption of odorant; enhanced accuracy of determination of present consumption of odorant. 6 cl, 1 dwg
