FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: application: in the field of electric engineering for compensation of alternating reactive power and increase of power coefficient of three-phase consumers of electric energy. Three-phase compensator comprises unit of power valves, throttle with gap, LC-filter of high frequencies, unit of valves control, including unit of grid analysis and unit of valves change-over control. According to method, signals from unit of grid analysis are sent to unit of valves change-over control, and sinusoidal signals quantised by level are made as fully corresponding by phase to current sinusoids, which are required for compensation of identified reactive power as per first harmonics. Afterwards maximum current phase is detected and connected, at the same time they perform permanent switchover of operation of two remaining phases proportional to currents of these phases with high frequency, and carry out according connection of valves, so that current through valves and throttle with gap flows in single direction. When value of angles between level-quantized sinusoidal signals and sinusoids of phased voltage of three-phase circuit equal to minus 90°, compensator is changed over into mode of reactive power generation into three-phase circuit, and in case of plus 90° - into mode of reactive power consumption from three-phase circuit.
