SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of electric engineering and may be used for smooth start and speed control of induction thyristor electric drives of common industrial application, namely for drive of fans, compressors, pumps, polishing machines, transporters, mechanisms of horizontal displacement of lifting transport machines, etc. Device of smooth start comprises thyristor voltage converter, control unit, unit of rotation frequency controller, unit of rotation frequency setting, metre of motor rotation frequency made on the basis of stator EMF metre with detectors of motor current and voltage, unit of electromagnet torque measurement and unit of electromagnet torque controller.

EFFECT: higher quality of induction motor speed control without detectors of torque and rotation frequency.
