METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OF ELECTRIC CONTACTS BASED ON CHROME AND COPPER Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC H01H1/02

FIELD: electric engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to electric engineering, in particular to manufacturing of electric contacts for vacuum arc-quenching chambers (VAC). Method for manufacturing of electric contacts based on chrome and copper includes preparation of charge by mechanical mixing of chrome and copper powders, pressing and preliminary reduction in atmosphere of sharply dried hydrogen with delay at temperature of 250÷700°C, liquid phase sintering at temperature of 1100÷1250°C in atmosphere of sharply dried hydrogen or solid phase sintering at temperature not exceeding 1050°C in atmosphere of sharply dried hydrogen or in vacuum, additional heating of items up to temperature of 300÷950°C. Prior to mixing of chrome and copper powders in order to change morphology of chrome particles, chrome powder particles are rolled by balls in mill.

EFFECT: increased commutation resource and provision of stability in lower level of cut current values by means of higher electric conductivity and evenness of structure of contacts based on chrome and copper, made by method of powder metallurgy.
