FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to peat industry and agriculture and can be used for production of water-soluble surfactants, humic growth stimulants and liquid oxyhumate fertilisers based on peat. Peat is first treated with 2-10% aqueous solution of an alkali for 15 minutes under cavitational action in a rotary cavitation apparatus with rotation speed of 3000 rpm, and then oxidised with hydrogen peroxide, in the same apparatus, in amount of 2.5-20% of the mass of completely dry peat for a period of 15 to 60 minutes at temperature of 60°C and hydromodulus 2. Cavitational treatment of peat in the presence of an oxidising agent and aqueous solution of NaOH intensifies the process (cuts overall duration to 75 minutes), reduces temperature from 120 to 60°C and increases content of humic and fulvic acids.
EFFECT: higher quality of obtained product.
