FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to computer systems, namely to improved system and method for detection of list in handwritten input data. For this purpose at first they select a group of lines as potential list. Then clustering is done by level of indention, and marker is detected for definition of list structure. Marker detection is carried out by means of detection of partners by marker, which represent pairs of lines with identical level of indent, which might start from potential markers with similar criteria. Criteria of potential markers in pair of lines is used to detect probability of the fact that mentioned pair of lines serves as partners by marker. In conclusion they define structure of list, including interconnection between list clauses.

EFFECT: possibility to detect list, such as marked or enumerated, consisting of clauses, in handwritten input data.
