FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to encoding and decoding data, using low-density parity-check code (LDPC). A structured parity-check matrix H is proposed, where H is an expansion of a basic matrix Hb, and where Hb contains a first part, which contains a column hb, with odd weight greater than 2, and a second part, containing matrix elements for row i, column j, equal to 1 for i=j, 1 for i=j+1 and 0 in other places. Expansion of the basic matrix Hb uses identical submatrices for 1 in each column of the second part H'b2, and the expansion uses paired submatrices for even number 1 in hb.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of encoding and decoding data.
