FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for levitation of a certain amount of conducting material, containing a coil for holding material in levitation using alternating current in the coil, as well as design of a method for levitation of a certain amount of conducting material, which can be used to control evaporation of conducting material. The device has two coils, a first coil and a second coil, where both coils form an alternating magnetic field during use. Alternating magnetic fields of the first and second coils counteract each other, and the coils are arranged such that, conducting material which is held in levitation between the first coil and the second coil evaporates. The invention also relates to a method for levitation of a certain amount of conducting material.
EFFECT: design of an improved device for levitation of a certain amount of conducting material; power for heating the material can be regulated using the device.
