FIELD: printing industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device of ink-jet printing and method of ink-jet printing. Device of ink-jet printing for printing pictures on printing carrier, using printing head, which provides ejection of ink from many openings for ejection, contains: restoration unit, intended for carrying out restoring operation in order to save efficiency of ink ejection by printing head after first beforehand set time period; unit of information collection, intended for information collection about first and second parametres, which concern printing device functionality; and control unit, which switches on, when first beforehand set period finishes. Method of ink-jet printing for printing of pictures on printing carrier with application of printing device consists in the following: information is collected about first and second parametres, which characterise printing device functioning and when first set period is over and collected information shows that second parametre satisfies the second set criterion, restoring operation for preserving efficiency of ink ejection by printing head.

EFFECT: invention ensures carrying out restoring operation with optimal time choice and reduction of poured out ink volume.
