SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an ink-jet printing device and an ink-jet printing method with a printing head configured to discharge ink for printing an image. The ink is circulated through the circulation flow path between the print head and the ink reservoir. A detection operation is performed to detect the discharge state of ink at the discharge port in the print head. The ink circulation and the detection operation are simultaneously performed by performing the detection operation in response to the start of ink circulation.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at reducing the time required for detecting an ink discharge state and a recovery operation for restoring the ink discharge state.
