FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy and can be used for manufacturing of heavy, heavy loaded machinery. For hardening of brass it contains, wt %: zinc 25.0-30.0; manganese 0.3-0.4; aluminium 0.3-0.4; lead 0.02-0.03; boron 0.02-0.03; zirconium 0.15-0.25; nickel 0.15-0.25; chrome 0.02-0.03; vanadium 0.15-0.25; silver 0.02-0.03; copper - the rest. Breaking strength of brass is approximately 700 MPa.
EFFECT: fortification of brass.
