SUBSTANCE: reverse linear drive has an exciting coil and a magnetic armature, driven back-and-forth by magnetic field of the exciting coil along an axis; an element lying on at least the entire length of the axial stroke of the armature, with a line drawing with alternately arranged transparent and opaque strip or light-reflecting and non-reflecting strips, as well as a photocell with light-emitting and light-receiving parts perpendicular the axial direction; the element with the line drawing is made in form of a comb and is rigidly fixed to the armature.
EFFECT: determination of instantaneous position of the armature with high resolution.
