FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: composite material is proposed, which is based on zinc sulphide nanocrystals and carbon nanotubes, in which zinc sulphide crystals serve as the matrix and carbon nanotubes are the reinforcing filler. Carbon nanotubes are inside the nanocrystals, directly passing through their volume. Such a composite can be used as optical material, since its optical density is not greater than 0.01.
EFFECT: reinforcing filler from carbon nanotubes provides for high strength of material.
