FIELD: metallurgy industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to obtaining pure rare-earth metals or their oxides from poor or technogenic raw material by means of ionic flotation method. Method of extracting cerium and yttrium ions from the solution involves ionic flotation by using surface-active compound as collector. As collector, there used is sodium dodecyl sulphate with the concentration corresponding to stoichiometric reaction: Me+3+3DS-=Me[DS-]3, where Me+3 - cerium or yttrium cation, DS- - dodecyl sulphate-ion. At that, for selective extraction of yttrium and for separating yttrium and cerium ions, ionic flotation is performed at pH = 5.
EFFECT: increasing extraction and separation of cerium and yttrium ions.
