FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to enrichment, in particular, to methods for obtaining rare-earth metals (REM) or oxides thereof from poor or technogenic raw material using a flotation extraction method. Method of extracting lutetium (III) from salt solutions involves floatation extraction using an organic phase and a collector. Organic phase used is isooctyl alcohol, and as a collector, an anionic surfactant of sodium dodecyl sulphate is used in a concentration corresponding to the stoichiometry of the reaction Lu+3 + 3DS-= Lu[DS]3, where Lu+3- lutetium cation, DS- - dodecyl sulphate ion. Floatextraction is carried out at pH not more than 7.9 and ratio of organic and aqueous phases of 1:20.
EFFECT: method increases degree of lutetium extraction.
