FIELD: oil and gas production.

SUBSTANCE: suggested group of inventions is related to geophysical survey of wells, in particular to device for monitoring of geophysical instrument cable tension force. Device for measurement of tension force comprises mechanism of tension indication signal generation and compensator of external hydrostatic pressure with sealing zone. Compensator of external hydrostatic pressure comprises stem, which is arranged in the form of single part with sealing zones arranged on it. Mechanism for generation of tension indication signal comprises a chamber filled with hydrostatic liquid and pressure sensor connected to each other by means of channel installed in stem. Method for measurement of tension force includes measurement of tension force in geophysical cable with a simultaneous compensation of external pressure effect at measurement results and displaying measurement results of geophysical cable to operator's panel. Measurement of tension force is carried out with application of device according to clause 1, in which arising tension force in cable via coupling is sent to stem, which pushes hydraulic liquid in chamber. Pressure proportional to cable tension force is pulled in chamber, and liquid along channel in stem acts at sensitive element of pressure sensor. Pressure sensor transforms pressure into electric signal.

EFFECT: improved reliability of device, accuracy of produced measurements, improved manufacturability of maintenance, and also cheapening of its manufacturing and assembly process due to simplification of device design.
