FIELD: physics; optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for converting velocity of a solid or diffusely reflecting object into frequency of a Doppler signal and can be used in non-contact linear displacement probes. The sensor includes optically matched laser, collimator, optical-acoustic laser beam splitter, focusing and receiving objective lenses, moving object, photodetector of laser radiation scattered from the object, quadrature oscillator of harmonic oscillations, two quadrature mixers and two low-pass filters, as well as an electromechanical vibrator, controlled by a low frequency generator of electric oscillations, where a swivel mirror is mounted on the said vibrator on the optical path between the focusing objective lens and the moving object. The mirror moves a formed interference grating along the displacement vector of the object. Frequency of output signals of the low-pass filters of the sensor is proportional to velocity of the object. Quadrature signals of the low-pass filters are the output signals of the sensor.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurement.
