FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves computer tomography of cranial bones to determine dimensions and curvature of fornix of hard palate. The obtained data are used to derive an operation area and choose a device keeping in scale with hard palate. Then it is followed with surgical procedure involving layer-by-layer dissection of nasal mucosa and submucosa through nasal passage over hard palate and blunt dissection thereof from periosteum within prospective dissection thereof. It is followed with arched dissection of periosteum with its convexity anteriad. Cortical layer is detached from spongy bone with bending an arched flap consisting of mucosa, submucosa layers, periosteum and cortical layer posteriad. Then in spongy layer of palatal bone, there is a recess formed being kept in scale with a body of signal process and radio transmission unit of a probe device. On each side of the recess, there are probe holes with their diametre being a little less than that of probes. Then the body of the signal process and radio transmission unit is inserted into the formed recess. The left and right probes are inserted into the holes formed in the layer of spongy bone. Working efficiency of the signal process and radio transmission unit is checked. With normal operation, the operation is finished, namely a space between the body and the recess walls is filled with rest bone tissue produced while forming the recess. Then the arched flap is placed back and fixed to bone. Mucosa is sutured within incision. Lower surface of tongue is incised, and a coordinate apparatus of the device that specifies coordinates for computer operation is placed into muscular mass of tip of the tongue. If operative intervention is considered to be impossible through nasal passage (in view of anatomic features of skeleton structure), it is performed the same way through mouth on hard palate from mouth (the second version of the offered method). Performance of the device for remote hands-free computer control is presented. It comprises a coordinate apparatus and a signal process and radio transmission unit accommodating an electrically connected power supply, electronics of the unit and a two-way radio and supplied with a power supply charger embedded in a rigid tight case made of biologically inert and electromagnetic waves permeable material.
EFFECT: invention can be used for people suffering from paraplegia, computer tomography of cranial bones is preformed to determine dimensions and curvature of fornix of hard palate.
