SUBSTANCE: invention is related to automatic control of technological process of suspensions separation and may be used to control operation of thickeners at potassium enrichment factories. Method provides for control of thickened pulp amount depending on concentration of solid in it, at the same time extraction of thickened pulp is done by pump with controlled drive along closed circuit with return of some suspension into conical part of thickener with drive control by flow of insoluble matters contained in ore. This parametre is used to correct flow of flocculant, and thickened pulp is extracted from circuit downstream pump with weight ratio of liquid and solid phases equal to 1.2-2.8, preferably 2. Control of drive relative to flow of insoluble matters is executed preferably with coefficient of 4-7.
