FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: method is aimed at reducing consumption coefficient of backup rolls in continuous multiple-stand mills for sheet steel hot rolling. The method implies interchange of the roll charge into the mill and its multipassage regrindings at the regulated value of the surface layer removal per each passage not exceeding 0.05 mm and supply of cooling lubricating fluid to the roll at regrinding. Prevention of chipping at maximal use of the roll body active layer and that of burning and deterioration of the rolls body solidity because of overheating is ensured due to the fact that the removal value during regrinding is kept equal to 0.6-1.8 mm and the roll is subject to preventive regrinding with the removal value of 2-4 mm after 2-4 charges to the mill. Besides the cooling lubricating fluid is supplied with the specific consumption of not less than 0.5·10-3 m3/s.
EFFECT: reducing consumption coefficient of backup rolls in continuous multiple-stand mills for sheet steel hot rolling.
