FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved method of producing allobetulin (19β,28-epoxyoleanan-3-ol) - pentacyclic triterpenoid of the oleanane oleanane family, with expressed antiviral activity and is of great interest to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Allobetulin is obtained directly from birchbark by combining stages of extracting betulinol from birchbark with aromatic hydrocarbon, preferably p-xylene or toluene and isomerisation of betulinol to allobetulin in the presence of orthophosphoric acid.
EFFECT: method simplifies technology of producing allobetulin with improved quality of the product.
