FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy field and can be used, preferentially for strengthening of external surface of parts of railway vehicles. For improvement of treatment and resource of operation of parts on surface coating of detail, installed rotary, impact by pulse voltaic arc through active technological medium between treated detail and electrode, connected to high-voltage direct current supply, herewith on surface coating of detail it is impacted by voltaic arc from high-voltage direct current supply under negative potential 6-10 kV at a frequency 40-120 Hz, which is directed under angle 90° from electrode to treated detail through water jet of diametre 1.0-3.0 mm and remote gap between electrode and treated surface of detail 2-10 mm and it is created in surface coating of detail cone-shaped fusion penetration of close-grained structure of depth up to 300 micrometres and basis diametre 0.2-0.5 mm, and then it is implemented mechanical operation of working surface of detail. Cone-shaped fusion penetrations of close-grained structure is created for 1-3 passes at a rate of even movement of detail 5-20 mm/s relative to the electrode and water jet, flowing at a rate 0.1-20 m/s.
EFFECT: strengthening of external surface of details of railway vehicles.
