FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric erosion treatment of metal and alloy surface used for increasing hardness, heat-resistance and corrosion resistance of machine parts. Disclosed is a method of producing a coating from molybdenum carbide on a part from molybdenum, involving electroerosion treatment of a part with a high-voltage electric arc of high pressure in a hydrogen atmosphere with a fixed gap between the electrodes, at which cathode used is processed part, and as anode is alloying electrode from graphite. Treatment is carried out at voltage 2,000 V, discharge current 0.5–1 A with repetition frequency 60 Hz, wherein by changing the pulse ratio, the roughness of the obtained coating from molybdenum carbide is controlled.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain coating on molybdenum surface from molybdenum carbide with roughness Ra=0,08–0,4 mcm.
