FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cable refers to electric power cables and contains at least two twisted conductors; foamed internal sheath layer, actually, round metal armature partially contacting internal sheath thus forming the gaps not filled outside internal sheath, and polymeric external sheath. Actually, foamed internal sheath takes the shape of periphery of twisted conductors, thus providing out-of-round cross section of foamed internal sheath. Cable manufacturing method involves at least two conductors, foaming of polymeric material, extrusion of foamed polymeric material around conductors and providing the possibility for foamed polymeric material to be put on conductors. Then round metal armature is put, which creates many non-filled cavities between internal sheath and metal armature. External sheath is extruded to this metal armature.
EFFECT: cable is light, easy-to-operate and cheap enough during manufacture and rigid enough to resist vibrations of elements and stresses when being routed.
