FIELD: manufacture of packages from polystyrene. SUBSTANCE: foamed polystyrene sheet has polystyrene polymer containing 1-15% by weight of rubber component and polystyrene the balance. Rubber component contains particles, with prevailing particle size being less than 0.04 micron. Density of foamed polystyrene sheet is 0.04-0.16 g/cub cm and thickness is 0.4-6.5 mm. Method involves preliminary heating sheet of basic material; clamping heated sheet in fixed position between punch and die; moving punch and die one relative to another to final forming position for sheet stretching; creating vacuum through die at one side of sheet and through punch at other side of sheet; cooling stretched sheet to fix its final shape. Basic material used for manufacture of deep drawn product is thermoplastic foamed material with mentioned content of rubber component, particle size, density and thickness of sheet. Wide range of deep drawn products such as containers including bowl-shaped vessels, buckets, barrels, trays and like products may be manufactured from this material.
